--Event CANCELLED--

Tonight’s Toronto Orienteering Club Wednesday Night O-Run, scheduled for July 15, has been
cancelled due to poor air quality across Toronto and the GTA.

Heavy smoke from wildfires in northern Ontario has moved into the region, creating unhealthy air-quality conditions and the unusual apocalyptic orange haze currently covering both the racecourse and my home in Richmond Hill.

For the health and safety of participants and volunteers, cancelling tonight’s event is the responsible decision.

Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next Wednesday Night O-Run under clearer skies.

The meeting place is outside the Earl Bales Community Centre. Bathurst Park is next to Earl Bales Park and is a technically difficult park with lots of MTB trails and dense forest.

We are preregistering for our Wednesday Night Training Series. This will help us improve our safety information and reduce waste.

Please Visit: Click --> HERE <-- to register.

You can register as many as you like at once, but please only register for evenings you are committing to attend in order to minimize excess map printing.

Registration is open to the event's start and day of events walk-ins are still welcome, but to guarantee you have a map, please register on or before Monday evening of the week of the event. We send our numbers to our printers on Tuesday mornings.

If you are a TOC member, select the option to confirm you are.

If you're not a TOC member, consider joining as these Wednesday evening trainings are free for Members, plus you get discounts on other events throughout the year. Membership information plus the join link are HERE. Non-members will be charged a small fee of $5 for each Wednesday night training to cover the cost of insurance and map printing. Compass rentals are also available for a small rental fee of $1 per night.

The ribbons are usually left up for 4 to 5 days after the Wednesday night event (or longer upon request) in case you want to run another day or were unable to make evening event. Email the Meet Director to see when they are removing them.
