Job duties
Field checking and mapping of areas near Guelph and Toronto, Ontario. Mapping must be done to current ISOM2017 or ISSprOM2019 standards using current orienteering mapping software, such as OCAD or OpenOrienteeringMapper. LIDAR is available for the basemaps.
Terms of employment
Temporary contract position for 10 to 12 weeks depending on the estimation of the time needed to complete the project.
Work start: Fall 2022

Wage: $25 – $30 per hour depending on experience.
Benefits: housing and a vehicle will be provided.
Locations of work: Starkey Hill Conservation Area and University of Guelph campus, Albion Hills, Palgrave, Claireville Conservation Area, Kortright Centre for Conservation.
Skills requirements: No formal education requirements, however applicants must be fully conversant with International Orienteering Federation standards for preparation of orienteering maps including ISOM2017 and ISSprOM2019. Five or more years of orienteering mapping experience is desirable. Applicants must be able to provide examples of orienteering maps previously completed and to be proficient with mapping software such as OCAD and OpenOrienteeringMapper.
Applicants must be able to work in Canada (Canadian residence or work permit).
