The length of this run will depend on a participant’s handicap. O-Cup BOX & HANDICAP: This race will feature the O-Cup Box which consists of a set of 6 to 8 checkpoints which participants may visit in any order. Particpants may skip check points in the box equal to their handicap point total. To make the course more exciting, this will be a double-sided map, with the course designed in two parts (or a map exchange used). Handicap points are awarded as follows:
Bonus: We will also offer a Beginner Course to the event, for beginners to orienteering. While not part of the O-Cup Series, the Beginner Course will give new orienteerers a valuable chance to practice and develop their nascent skills. The course will be set entirely on trail, and quite safe for all ages. We do ask that very young children be accompanied by a parent or guardian. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
