    Directions

    Navigate Highway 400 to the Highway 88 exit at Bradford, approximately 40 km north of Toronto. Travel east approximately 6 km to the main intersection in downtown Bradford (former Highway 11, also known as Barrie Street). Turn north and travel approximately 3 km to the 9th Line, with a sign for Scanlon Creek C.A. Turn right (east) and travel approximately 1 km to the entrance to Scanlon Creek C.A. on your left.

    Follow the driveway past the entrance booth (where you should please pay your daily parking fee of $6 per vehicle, self-serve), bear right to the Nature Centre parking lot.

    There are three ways to pay parking fees to Scanlon Creek:

    The first time you run the app or visit the website, you will be required to set up a user account and payment method (credit card / smart card).  Once your account is set up, paying for parking takes just a few seconds each time and adding more time is easy.

    Format

    The length of this run will depend on a participant’s handicap. O-Cup BOX & HANDICAP: This race will feature the O-Cup Box which consists of a set of 6 to 8 checkpoints which participants may visit in any order. Particpants may skip check points in the box equal to their handicap point total. To make the course more exciting, this will be a double-sided map, with the course designed in two parts (or a map exchange used). Handicap points are awarded as follows:

    Bonus: We will also offer a Beginner Course to the event, for beginners to orienteering. While not part of the O-Cup Series, the Beginner Course will give new orienteerers a valuable chance to practice and develop their nascent skills. The course will be set entirely on trail, and quite safe for all ages. We do ask that very young children be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

    Cost
    • Adults: $20/person but ONLY $10 for TOC/UKR members
    • Youth: $10/person (16 & under) but ONLY $5 for TOC/UKR members
    • Beginner Course: $10/person
    • Family: $40.00
    • Community Groups(cubs, scouts, guides, cadets, etc): $10.00/person

    An entrance fee of $10 per vehicle (no limit on # of passengers) applies. Carpooling is strongly suggested; it is possible to meet others at the Park & Ride at Hwy 400 & County Road 88 or possibly at the No Frills Plaza on Highway 11/Yonge Street about 2 km south of the turn off to Line 9.

    Please Note: SportIdent electronic timing will be used at this event. Your entry fee includes the use of a SportIdent electronic timing card (SI card). If you have your own SI card, please provide the number when registering. SI cards are also available for purchase from our site.

    As is a UKR/VO2 tradition, there will be prizes to the top 5 finishers plus a series of random door prizes. Please come prepared to win!
